Dr. Kamran Bokhari is a Non-Resident Scholar with the Arabia Foundation specializing in political Islam, geo-sectarianism, and counter-terrorism. He is also the Director for Strategy and Programs at the Center for Global Policy and teaches courses on national security and foreign policy at the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute. Earlier in his career, Kamran served as a fellow with the Program on Extremism at George Washington University and as a senior consultant with The World Bank. He has 15 years of experience in private sector intelligence where he provided intellectual leadership in the publication of cutting-edge geopolitical analyses and forecasts.
Kamran is the author of Political Islam in the Age of Democratization and a contributor to edited volumes on Islam and politics, Middle East geopolitics, and strategic analysis. He has briefed government agencies in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom and is a frequent commentator for global print and television media. Kamran holds a Ph.D in Politics and International Relations from the University of Westminster.
